Weather
ORLANDO WEATHEROrlando is one of the greatest destinations for a family or couples break at any time of year, with summers ideal for exploration, moderate winters ideal for holiday celebrations, and theme parks (such as Walt Disney World) available all year! However, there are some advantages and special events throughout the year.
Summertime in Florida is hot and humid, with a fair amount of rainfall but also lots of sunshine. Even though it is cooler and drier in the winter, it never really gets that cold outside of perhaps the most northern regions.
Even though summer is typically the rainiest season, it does rain every month. Interestingly, summer nights in the north are a few degrees cooler than summer days, even though northern summer days can be hotter than southern summer days.
During the daytime in the summer, heat, and humidity are also very high everywhere, but afternoon thunderstorms typically cool the air toward the end of the day so that heat and humidity do not last into the night. Florida experiences the most thunderstorms annually of any US state.
Some folks don’t mind the hot weather throughout the summer. If you prefer cooler temperatures, the ideal months to visit Orlando are January through April. There is little rain, and the temperatures are nice but not oppressive. Except for spring break and Easter, crowds are also rather low during these months.
